Acceptable use policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") describes what you may and may not do with Lumi. It supplements the Terms of Service. Violating this policy may result in suspension or termination of your account.
1. Intended use
Lumi is designed to help you manage your digital life through voice and text commands. Intended uses include:
- Managing your calendar, contacts, and reminders
- Sending messages and emails through connected services
- Searching, summarizing, and organizing documents
- Adjusting device settings and automating routine tasks
- Coordinating workflows across connected business tools
- Getting information, calculations, and translations
2. Prohibited uses
Harmful actions
You may not use Lumi to:
- Send threatening, harassing, or abusive messages to any person
- Impersonate another person when sending messages or creating content
- Send unsolicited bulk messages (spam) through any connected service
- Generate or distribute content that is defamatory, obscene, or promotes violence
- Facilitate illegal activities of any kind
Unauthorized access
You may not use Lumi to:
- Access accounts, services, or data that you are not authorized to access
- Bypass security controls, authentication mechanisms, or access restrictions on any service
- Probe, scan, or test vulnerabilities of Lumi or connected services
- Use another person's credentials or device without their knowledge and consent
System abuse
You may not:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Lumi App or its components
- Circumvent usage limits, rate limits, or feature restrictions
- Create automated scripts that interact with Lumi without direct user initiation
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute access to Lumi without written permission
- Interfere with the operation of Lumi or its infrastructure
AI-specific restrictions
You may not use Lumi to:
- Generate content that misrepresents AI-generated output as human-created in contexts where disclosure is required by law
- Attempt to extract, replicate, or reverse-engineer the underlying AI models
- Use Lumi's AI capabilities to create competing AI assistant products
- Feed Lumi false context to manipulate its behavior or bypass its safety guidelines
- Use Lumi for decisions that require human judgment in regulated domains (medical diagnosis, legal advice, financial trading) without appropriate human oversight
High-risk use cases
Lumi is not designed for and must not be used in:
- Safety-critical systems where AI errors could cause physical harm
- Autonomous financial transactions (buying, selling, transferring money)
- Medical or healthcare decision-making without qualified human oversight
- Legal proceedings as a substitute for qualified legal counsel
- Operating machinery, vehicles, or other physical systems
3. Business account responsibilities
If you are a Lumi Business or Enterprise administrator:
- You are responsible for ensuring your organization's users comply with this AUP
- You must configure appropriate access controls and policies for your organization's use case
- You must not enable the Company Knowledge feature on data sources containing information your users should not have access to
- You must ensure that your use of Lumi with organizational data complies with your organization's own data governance policies and any applicable industry regulations
4. Reporting violations
If you believe someone is violating this AUP, report it to abuse@lumi.app. We investigate all reports and take appropriate action, which may include warning the user, suspending access, or terminating the account.
5. Consequences of violation
Violations of this AUP may result in:
- A warning with a request to stop the prohibited behavior
- Temporary suspension of your account
- Permanent termination of your account
- Reporting to law enforcement if the violation involves illegal activity
We reserve the right to determine what constitutes a violation and to take action at our discretion. For Business and Enterprise accounts, we will notify the account administrator before suspending individual users, except in cases requiring immediate action to prevent harm.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the App or via email at least 30 days before taking effect.
